Wrestling: ThunderRidge qualifies three for state meet

ThunderRidge's Nic Vicic is on his way to the state 5A wrestling tournament this week at Ball Arena in Denver.
 
He could finish no worse than second at the regional tournament Feb. 12 at Prairie View High School.
 
Teammate Tyler Doyle could finish no worse than second at 220 pounds. His first two wins at regionals were by pinfall, and they took less than five minutes of mat time to accomplish.
 
Aiden Jones wound up third at 145 pounds. He won two straight matches in the consolation draw after his only loss in the semifinal round.
 
Silas Pacheco took fifth at 138 pounds. Cody Craven (120 pounds) and Brandon Hargis (182 pounds) were sixth in their respective weight classes.
 
The state meet begins at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17. The finals are set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19.
