Thousands of school supplies were donated during the Action Center’s  Aug. 4 School Supply Distribution.

The annual event provides much-needed school supplies to nearly 5,000 students of low-income or homeless families in Jefferson County. This year's distribution took place August 3-6 and August 8-9 at Everitt Middle School in Wheat Ridge.

A press release about the event said there has been substantial need in Jefferson County during the 2021-2022 school year, with more than 3,100 students identified as facing some sort of homelessness. Currently, one out of every three students is on the free-and reduced lunch program.
