Parker police make arrest in shooting that killed one, injured another

Suspect knew both victims


The Parker Police Department has made an arrest following a deadly shooting at the Stone Canyon Apartments on Cottonwood Drive yesterday evening.

Cameron Dial, 27, was brought in on charges of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree member and first-degree assault, according to the Parker Police Department. The 18th Judicial District is set to officially file charges Feb. 22, according to a spokesperson with the office. 

Officers responded to the apartment complex at about 5:30 p.m. Feb. 15 after receiving reports of shots fired. On the scene, they found a man who was killed in the incident. They also found a woman who had been shot and sustained life threatening injuries. The suspect and both victims all knew each other, said Josh Hans, the spokesperson for Parker Police.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital. 

A few hours after the incident, the Parker Police Department reported there was no threat to the public. 

The identities of the victims has not been released.
