Apparent road rage leads to barricade situation in Adams County

Posted

It took about three hours for Adams County sheriff's deputies and Commerce City police to bring a situation involving a barricaded gunman to a resolution.

Authorities were able to remove two people from a car near East 72nd Avenue and U.S. Highway 85 shortly before 9 p.m. Nov. 29. At that time, there had been no explanation of how police and deputies were able to get the two suspects out of the vehicle, nor was there any word on injuries.

"After negotiations with the suspects the situation was safely ended without further incident," said a Facebook post from the AdCo sheriff's department..

Local media reported that the incident began with a road rage incident and ended with one person who pulled a gun, then wouldn't come out of a car.

Authorities issued a shelter-in-place order was in place. U.S. Highway 85 was closed from east 77th to 72nd avenues.
